SBQ

Q : When comparing large projects versus small projects, which do you get more excited about finishing?

Well, I love completing anything, but I definitely get more happiness out of completing a big piece. Like my Pamela Kellogg mystery that's framed and hung by the couch - every time I look at it, I think of how happy I was to finally finish it :)

Getting soooo close on the dolphins - finished the top water part and the right side of coral, currently working on the white on the dolphins. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend :)

Cool storage idea for floss

This is awesome! If I used bobbins, I'd totally be whipping out the floss and linen RIGHT NOW, never mind all those Christmas presents!

Check it out!

Organization

I've been thinking a lot about cross stitch storage lately, mostly because I've been discovering cross stitch stuff all over the house during my mad fall decluttering spree. I saw this on Carol Duvall, and while they totally beat my giant plastic drawers I currently keep my cross stitch in, they're much more expensive. $30 for an MDF cube? $60 for one with two drawers? Sheesh.

Anyway, I've started separating all the magazines/charts I have into wanna-do / no-wanna-do piles. For now, all the stuff I don't want to do is getting shoved downstairs. Hopefully, I can start trading away some of the leaflets at least in exchange for some shiny new supplies.

Not much new going on in my stitching - you can actually tell they're dolphins now, which is nice. Hopefully it'll be mostly done by next weekend.

Eek,

Well, the dolphin's rather annoying to work on - eek, dark blue aida! - but I've been plugging along on it. I think, to break up the monotony, I'm going to let myself work on the Autumn Wreath after I do a certain amount of work on the dolphin each night. I love beading, so it should keep me cross stitching away!

HD!

Woo-hoo! Finally finished that final Halloween freebie. I haven't scanned it yet - I have a couple of things sitting around I haven't scanned yet, so I'm hopefully going to scan all of them a little later tonight. Pictures later :)

SBQ

If you have stitched for a while, can you usually pick out the DMC colors you need from memory when you go to your LNS? (For example, you know that 610 is a brown.)

Occasionally - I know, for instance, 310 is black, 666 is a red (I'm sure someone at DMC thought that was really funny), things like that. But no, I wouldn't have know 610 is a brown from memory :)

Still...no...new...finishes...

Still working on the Halloween freebie, though I have several good reasons. #1) I GOT A POWERBOOK LAST NIGHT!... 2) I'm redesigning/restyling my webpage in CSS... oh, and I GOT A POWERBOOK LAST NIGHT! Oh, and too much work for class, including a 5pg paper due tomorrow that I really need to spend the rest of the day working on, and then my final Digital Media project, and then the last couple of labs for Network Security, and then the instructional module for Instructional Design.

So, uh, POWERBOOK!... yeah :)

October Goals / November Goals

Alrighty, since it's November 1st, it's time for some goal re-evaluation.

October Goals
*- Wedding Sampler for Glenn's dad (FINISHED!)
*- Mill Hill's Autumn wreath (All the cross-stitch is done, but not the beading)
*- Christmas present for Vickie (dolphin) (Started at least)
- Katamari Damacy (my own pattern :) (Getting closer....)

In light of that, my new November goals are...

November Goals
*- Finish Christmas present for Vickie (dolphin)
*- Finish up Christmas sampler 2004 (most french knots)
*- Finish Mill Hill's Autumn wreath
*- Start Christmas Present for Gram
- Prarie Schooler Autumn Sampler

LOL, mostly I just pushed all the unfinished stuff into November :). Well, I will have a week of Thanksgiving break that I anticipate spending most of my time stitching, so hopefully, everything will get done this month!
